Comments: Sleeveless ankle-length multi-colored dress with velvet vest-like, close-fitting bodice and handkerchief hem silk chiffon skirt. The entire dress is hand-painted in shades of sky blue, green, gold, orange, copper, and black. The bodice is hand-quilted, hand beaded, couched, appliqued, and lined with silk. Its front, with a copper metal leaf-shaped closure on the left side, resembles a butterfly; the back of the bodice is constructed of two pieces of fabric and bears a two-ring motif, the left half appliqued to the surface and the right allowed to drape freely at the center back. The skirt is enhanced by thin lines of opaque black paint which sit on the surface in a way that resembles butterfly wings.
