Dwight D. Eisenhower was the Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe during World War II and President of the United States from 1953 to 1961. “I like Ike” was one of his campaign slogans (certainly the most famous) and was printed on an assortment of fabrics and objects in order to promote his presidential campaign. He is one of the first presidents to use television spots for his campaign and he specifically targeted women in order to win their vote (much like Teddy Roosevelt in 1912). He is also the president that established NASA during the great space race against the Soviet Union.
