The bandana is of a political theme from the 1888 presidential race, advertising future president Benjamin Harrison and his vice-president Levi P. Morton. The design consists of a large circle that takes up nearly the entire piece. Inside are 45 white stars on a blue ground on the upper half, with red and white stripes on the lower half. "Protection" is written across the stripes in blue. The outer circle is has the nominees' names and the offices they are seeking in white on red. In each corner is a portrait of the nominees, with diagonal images replicated. The bandana is machine-hemmed on the top and bottom.
