Comments: Elizabeth Draper was the decorator for the Eisenhower White House. This piece was the first commemorative toile produced for 100 yrs. This piece depicts scenes and symbols from President Eisenhower's life and political career. These include his childhood home (Abilene, KS), West Point, the home where he was married (Denver, CO), Columbia University, Gettysburg Farm, and the White House. Military flags, arms, 5 stars of a general, crossed dwords, caps, the shoulder patch of SHAEF, the presidential eagle, the G.O.P.elephant are also included. His hobbies, painting and golf, are depicted as well. Integrating the design is a garland of state flowers and acorns which signify strength and fruitfulness. Arranged on tinted background with pinpoints of color, this pattern blends well with modern furniture or antiques. It is printed in 10 colors including the characteristic red, white, and blue. The toile was styles by the Eisenhower's decorator, Elizabeth Draper, for Schumacher.
