Comments: Carved wooden tool for beating bark cloth. Shape is an elongated rectangle with four equal sides each measuring 7.5” x 1.25”. Handle is tapered to a rounded point. Three of the sides are incised with vertical lines. There are 19, 22, and 25 lines on these sides. The fourth side has 9 incised zigzag lines (Kooijman fig. 71). Shape of the handle indicates the tool may be from Hawaii (Kooijman p. 107).
